Build Reading Confidence
When your child struggles with reading, it is not your fault or a reflection that there is something "wrong" with your child. Common reading instruction is confusing at best.
So confidence loss is understandable due to reading instruction not making sense.
Parents often tell me their child is bright, imaginative, and capable — but reading has become the place where they feel defeated. They may avoid reading aloud, say they are “bad at reading,” or become frustrated before they even begin.
At Classical Start Tutoring, I help students rebuild reading confidence by giving them clear tools and steady success. Lessons are structured, patient, and encouraging. We focus on the foundational skills behind reading: phonograms, spelling rules, decoding, syllables, narration, and comprehension.
Confidence grows when reading begins to make sense.
One family shared that their daughter’s reading and writing were not clicking, and her confidence was starting to dip. After working on phonograms and sounding out words, she began reading short stories on her own. Her parents said the academic growth was wonderful, but what meant the most was seeing her become proud of her reading.
That is the kind of growth I want for every student.
My tutoring is not built around pressure, guessing, or endless worksheets. I use short, focused mini-lessons and multisensory practice so students can experience small wins that build over time. For many children, this combination of structure and warmth makes reading feel possible again.
